STATEHOUSE (May 30, 2025) – State Rep. Danny Lopez (R-Carmel) on Thursday honored retired Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank Executive Director Anita Hagen for her 15 years with the organization.
Hagen helped found the organization in 2010 and served as the executive director for 10 years. Under Hagen’s leadership, the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank distributed over 1.5 million pounds of food to those in need within the community.
"Under Anita’s leadership, HCH grew in reach, impact, and compassion while providing vital resources to countless families in need across Hamilton County," Lopez said. "Her legacy of generosity and community spirit will continue to inspire for years to come."
Hagen retired in March and continues to volunteer with the organization.
Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, Inc. was established in 2009 when several of the food pantries in the community joined together and set up a new nonprofit entity to assist all Hamilton County pantries with their food inventory needs.
The Distinguished Hoosier Award is one of the highest awards given to Indiana citizens by the governor. It is awarded to those who distinguish themselves by significant contributions to their communities, and whose qualities and actions endear them in the hearts and minds of Hoosiers.
