STATEHOUSE (March 23, 2017) – Local graduates are gaining experience as interns with State Rep. Todd Huston (R-Fishers) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2017 legislative session.
Owen Egenolf, a resident of Indianapolis, is the son of Patrick and Christi Egenolf. He is a Heritage Christian High School graduate and currently attends Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis where he is majoring in public affairs and business.
Sydney Groves, a resident of Fishers, is the daughter of John and Lynn Groves. A Hamilton Southeastern High School graduate, Groves attends Indiana University where she is majoring in law and public policy.
As interns in the House Majority Legislative Office, Egenolf and Groves correspond with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails. They also help staff committee hearings and floor proceedings.
Max Adams, a resident of Indianapolis, is the son of Dave and Aileen Adams. He attended Cathedral High School and is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned bachelor’s degrees in English and public affairs.
As a policy intern, Adams works with the policy director, deputy policy director and policy analyst to research, track and analyze legislation.
“Every year I look forward to working with the interns from our area. This opportunity is a great way for students to witness the legislative process firsthand,” Huston said. “I highly encourage interested college students and recent graduates in our community to apply next session in order to gain a unique experience and enhance their skill sets.”
The House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
