STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2017) – A local graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2017 legislative session.
Molly McCann, a resident of Kokomo, is the daughter of Julie and Mark McCann. A Western High School graduate, McCann earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University after majoring in public relations and communications.
As an intern in the House Majority Communications Office, McCann helps write press releases, create legislative handouts and set up press conferences.
“This internship allows young professionals the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state government,” VanNatter said. “It’s always a pleasure having students like Molly represent our area so well during the legislative session.”
The House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
