STATEHOUSE (March 21, 2025) – House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) recently appointed State Rep. Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper) to serve on the White River State Park Development Commission.
In this role, Lindauer will help oversee and guide the development of one of Indiana's premier urban parks. The commission is responsible for managing and enhancing White River State Park, a destination that blends greenspaces, cultural attractions and outdoor entertainment all within downtown Indianapolis. The park is home to the Indianapolis Zoo, Victory Field, Everwise Amphitheater and the Eiteljorg Museum.
"I'm honored to be appointed to the White River State Park Development Commission and look forward to working with fellow commissioners and legislators to ensure this unique state attraction continues to thrive and bring growth to Indiana," Lindauer said. "White River State Park is a vital part of our capital city, providing recreational spaces, tourism and economic development opportunities for Hoosiers."
Lindauer, who serves as chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, has been a strong advocate for bolstering state tourism and conservation efforts. The commission oversees park improvements and long-term planning in order for it to remain a continued destination for all Hoosiers.
