STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) — State Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) will be serving as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Public Policy.

In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.

“As chair of the Interim Study Committee on Public Policy, I will be leading fellow members in discussions concerning the state’s complex tobacco and alcohol policies,” Lehman said. “Since formally legalizing fantasy sports in Indiana, we will also be examining how these games should be appropriately governed.”

Lehman said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.

Lehman will also serve on the Legislative Council and the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance.

Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) represents House District 79,
which includes all of Adams County and portions of Allen and Wells counties.
