STATEHOUSE (Dec. 15, 2022) – State Rep. Cindy Ledbetter (R-Newburgh) recently received appointments to serve as a member on key House committees.

Ledbetter will serve as a member of the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, the House Government and Regulatory Committee, and the House Public Health Committee. She was also appointed Assistant Majority Caucus Chair, a House Republican leadership position.

"As a nurse practitioner, I look forward to leaning on my experience in the health care industry and my understanding of patient needs to serve on the House Public Health Committee," Ledbetter said. "Affordability and access to care are two critical challenges that we have to address, and I look forward to representing our district on these committees at the Statehouse this session."

House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms.

House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for the first day of the 2023 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.

Ledbetter encourages constituents to visit in.gov/h75 to sign up to receive e-newsletter updates about what’s happening at the Statehouse throughout the legislative session and beyond.
