Since last year, Hoosiers have been working hard to manage through the unprecedented pandemic to continue providing for their families. Many lost their jobs and are still trying to get back on their feet. However, there's good news. From hospitality to advanced manufacturing, employers across many industries are hiring. To help Hoosiers successfully land a high-wage, in-demand job, the state has a wide variety of workforce resources available.
Based on recent data, more than 115,000 job openings are available around the state. For those who need to skill up first, the Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Grant pays the tuition and fees for eligible high-value certificate programs at Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, Indiana Institute of Technology or other providers. Employers and employees can learn about upcoming classes and programs in the area at NextLevelJobs.org.
Indiana Career Ready is an online tool that prepares job seekers for in-demand careers, whether they have a little experience or 20-plus years in the workforce. By visiting IndianaCareerReady.com, Hoosiers can access customized training and tools, like a job portal and resume builder, based on their previous background and experiences.
Tailored resources are also available at INvets.org for those in the military to find the most current information about job opportunities available in health care, logistics, manufacturing and tech, and other high-demand industries throughout the state.
These resources can help job seekers obtain the training needed to be successful in high-wage, in-demand careers. Those looking for employment opportunities can also visit in.gov/dwd.
It's important to find a job that's the right fit. With these resources and job training programs, Hoosiers can find a career path best suited for them and our state can continue on our road to economic recovery.
