Lawmakers lace up sneakers to raise cancer awareness

RAISING AWARENESS: (From left to right) State Reps. Each year, the Indiana House of Representatives participates in the Suits and Sneakers Challenge, an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. According to the Indiana State Department of Health, about 2.4 million Indiana residents, or 2 out of every 5 people now living in Indiana, will eventually develop cancer.


State Rep. Jeff Ellington represents House District 62, which includes

portions of Greene, Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.

State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) represents House District 46,
which includes portions of Owen, Clay, Vigo and Monroe counties.

State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) represents House District 60, which includes portions of Morgan and Monroe counties and is the Asst. Majority Floor Leader.
