Lauer named to Financial Institutions, Insurance summer study committee

Will examine medical payment coverage, effects of COVID-19

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 21, 2020) – The Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance, on which State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus) serves, will meet Aug. 26 to examine medical payment coverage and the effects of COVID-19 based on reports from the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions and the Department of Insurance.

He said the committee hearing will be held in the House Chamber at the Statehouse at 11 a.m. Social distancing protocols will be implemented, with public testimony presented in Room 156 and live streamed for committee members. To watch the meeting online, visit iga.in.gov.

"By delving into complicated matters and thoroughly investigating issues impacting our state, legislators can prepare for session and craft stronger policies," Lauer said. "I'm ready to get to work on the committee and focus on important topics, especially the issues Hoosiers are facing during this pandemic."
