STATEHOUSE (June 24, 2016) — State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) will be serving as chair of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.
In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, officials meet to examine tops, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.
“As chair of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, I will lead discussions on how to enhance coordination between state and local governments,” Karickhoff said. “This summer, we will be working with the state fire marshal and the Indiana Fire Alliance on a fire and EMS survey. We will also be revisiting last year’s work on addressing properties with no or very low property tax bills.”
The commission will also be administering its biennial survey of local elected officials.
Karickhoff said the commission will soon announce its meeting schedule and study topics, which will be available online at iga.in.gov.
