STATEHOUSE (Oct. 5, 2016) – Sweetser recently received over $258,000 in federal funding to improve sidewalks, according to State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo).

“These federal dollars will have a positive impact on the community of Sweetser,” Karickhoff said. “Improvement projects like these are encouraging to Hoosiers living in small towns across our great state. During the upcoming legislative session, we will develop responsible, long-term solutions to fund Indiana’s roads.”

The Indiana Department of Transportation distributed nearly $80 million in federal transportation funding to 64 rural cities, towns and counties to invest in local road and bridge improvements and sidewalk and trail projects. Combined with local funds, close to $135 million is being invested in infrastructure in communities across Indiana.
