STATEHOUSE (March 31, 2021) — Kokomo resident Ely Page is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2021 legislative session.
Page is the son of Jason and Denise Page and recently graduated from Indiana University Kokomo with a bachelor's degree in history and political science.
"This internship has provided me a great opportunity to learn more about how Indiana's government works for Hoosiers while adding skills to my resume," Page said. "Throughout this experience, I've worked alongside legislators and their staff to help constituents solve any problem they may be having or point them in the right direction to find a solution."
As a legislative intern, Page corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails, while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"Our interns have a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and work experience while learning about state government," Karickhoff said. "Any young person looking for a launching pad for their career should apply for this internship."
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
