Note to the press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) in your coverage of today's economic development announcement from Gov. Eric Holcomb, Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) and UAW leaders, and the governor's ceremonial bill signing of House Enrolled Act 1168. Karickhoff authored the law to establish the Electric Vehicle Product Commission to evaluate and identify potential industry growth opportunities and keep jobs in Indiana.

STATEHOUSE (Oct. 7, 2021) – "We're seeing electric vehicles begin taking up a growing portion of the automotive market and that percentage of sales is only expected to go up. The Electric Vehicle Product Commission will evaluate our state's capabilities, so Indiana can position itself to be a world leader moving forward. This technological shift is ripe for innovation and Hoosier manufacturers are ready to plug into the future, build on Indiana's existing infrastructure and bolster new opportunities for our skilled and developing workforce to make it happen."
