Karickhoff: Howard County farm receives distinguished award
STATEHOUSE (March 28, 2016) — State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) congratulates the Countryman family from Howard County for their designation as a Hoosier Homestead award recipient for 100 years of family farm ownership.
“Having the will and determination to keep a business functioning this long is truly remarkable,” Karickhoff said. “Indiana’s agriculture industry is a critical part of our economy, contributing more than $44 billion and supporting 190,000 jobs.”
The Hoosier Homestead Award Program recognizes farms that have been owned and maintained by the same family for 100 years or more. The Countryman Farm has been in operation since 1908.

State Rep. Mike Karickhoff serves as Budget Subcommittee Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and on the Natural Resources Committee. He is also the chair of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. Rep.
