STATEHOUSE (Dec. 10, 2018) – State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) was recently reappointed to serve as vice chair of the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee.
“As a veteran, I have a great understanding of the subject matter in this committee,” Judy said. “This session, I am working on legislation that would pair parking placards with military branch license plates to allow disabled veterans no-cost parking at metered parking spaces. The placard would also extend all the same benefits afforded by a disabled veteran plate.”
Judy was also reappointed to the House Elections and Apportionment Committee and will also serve on the House Insurance Committee.
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
Standing committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
