STATEHOUSE (March 22, 2018) — Artwork by a local artist will soon be on display at the Statehouse, according to State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne).
Judy said Jodi Sargent was selected to have her artwork decorate the Statehouse as part of Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch’s Hoosier Women Artists 2018 initiative.
“Jodi is among many talented artists in our community,” Judy said. “I would like to congratulate her on being recognized by the lieutenant governor, and I very much look forward to seeing her photograph displayed in the Statehouse.”
Sargent, from Columbia City, will have her work, titled Spring Rain, displayed in the lieutenant governor’s office.
These artists and others were honored at a Statehouse ceremony on Wednesday, which recognized the talents of women throughout Indiana.
In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the Hoosier Women Artists initiative is an annual contest recognizing the importance of the arts by showcasing drawings, paintings and photography.
State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) represents House District 81,
which includes portions of Whitley and Allen counties.
