STATEHOUSE (March 1, 2018) — State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) honored Whitko High School art students on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Statehouse with a resolution congratulating them for their accomplishments in the 48th World School Children’s Art Exhibition.
Open to school children ages 6-15, the World School Children’s Art Exhibition promotes mutual understanding and friendship through the exchange of children’s art work. Whitko art students received medals in the competition comprised of student artwork from 42 countries.
“These kids display great talent and appreciation of art, and show they can compete with the world’s best,” Judy said. “I’m proud to represent students and educators who use their gifts, striving to create a better and more understanding world.”
To date, Whitko High School art students received 37 state, 43 national and 141 international awards. Students Brielle Harrison, Megan Licata, Chase Meade, Katarina Rojas, Julia Seifert, Derek Stouder and Trysten Tucker were among those at the exhibition in Taipei, Republic of China receiving awards.
For their contributions to art and education, Judy also recognized Whitko High School art teacher Daniel Malicki, Principal John Snyder and Superintendent Steve Clason.
State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) represents House District 81, which includes portions of Whitley and Allen counties.
