State Rep. Christopher Judy (R-Fort Wayne) is encouraging Hoosier students to apply for the Indiana House Page Program.

Students 13 to 18 years old are offered the chance to visit the Statehouse and see a full day of legislative activity. In addition to visiting the Statehouse, pages have the opportunity to tour locations like the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate chambers. Pages also have an opportunity to observe the legislative session as well as help staff members.

“I strongly recommend the page program to any student that is eager to learn about the legislative process. This program gives student pages the opportunity to tour the Statehouse and also offers them the chance to work directly with their representatives,” Judy said. “I look forward to meeting all of the student pages this session.”

Judy said students who are interested in the page program are encouraged to schedule their visit as soon as possible. Students who serve as pages are excused from school for the day and are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Statehouse. Session starts Jan. 5, and runs through the second week of March. Recommended days to serve include Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays when the House is in session.
