STATEHOUSE (Dec. 28, 2020) – State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) was recently appointed to serve on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee.
Judy said the House Ways and Means Committee will be tasked with crafting Indiana's next two-year state budget this session.
"Passing a fiscally responsible budget is our biggest priority this session," Judy said. "Our state has a track record of living within its means, just as Hoosier taxpayers do every day, and I'm confident we will do it again."
A veteran of the Iraq War, Judy will again lend his expertise as a returning member of the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee, where he will work on policies supporting our nation's heroes.
"Veterans sometimes face readjustment problems when returning home after their service has ended," Judy said. "This committee helps provide some solutions to those issues and others, like employment, education and health care. In addition, we'll look at policies to keep our communities safe and support law enforcement. We have a lot of work to do, and I'm excited to get started."
Judy said House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, kicking off Jan. 4, to consider legislation impacting Hoosiers.
