STATEHOUSE (Aug. 26, 2020) – Chris Jeter of Fishers took the oath of office today to serve as state representative for House District 88.

Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath during a formal swearing-in ceremony in the Supreme Court Courtroom at the Statehouse.

"Having the opportunity to represent the people of House District 88 is an honor," Jeter said. "My service in the military fueled my passion for public service, and my training as an attorney uniquely qualifies me for this important position. I intend to use my experiences to help improve the lives of those in our community and around Indiana."

After serving on active duty for seven years, Jeter is now a Navy Reserve Officer. Deployed to Iraq in 2006, he held several legal positions during his time in the service, including as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. He is currently a partner at a law firm in downtown Fishers, which he started in 2015 with two other attorneys.

Jeter and his wife, Karen, live in Fishers with their three children. He is a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications, and The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Jeter will serve out the remaining term of former House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) who recently resigned his seat after 34 years.
