Jeff Ellington sworn in as new state representative

INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 5, 2015) — Jeff Ellington of Bloomington took the oath of office today to serve as state representative for House District 62.

Indiana Supreme Court Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during a formal swearing-in ceremony. House District 62 includes all of Greene County and portions of Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.

“It is an honor to be entrusted with the responsibility of representing the people of District 62,” Ellington said. “I will work hard to uphold the values of our community and help find solutions that benefit Hoosiers.”

Ellington, a rescue technician and business owner, served as a Monroe County Council member and as the Monroe County Recorder. He studied at Indiana University and is married with two children.

Ellington will fulfill the remaining term of former State Rep. Matt Ubelhor who resigned in December.
