STATEHOUSE (Oct. 3, 2023) – Jasper County legislators encourage Hoosier voters to register or check their voting status by the Oct. 10 deadline.

"Voting is an important part of our duties as citizens and with the upcoming election, Hoosiers have the opportunity to cast their votes on or before Election Day," said State Rep. Michael Aylesworth (R-Hebron). "The deadline to register to vote is fast approaching and the online voter portal makes it easy to register or check your status."

State Rep. Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) said Hoosiers can visit IndianaVoters.com and quickly access a link to register to vote or check their voter registration record. The state's website also provides voters with local polling locations and who's on their ballot.

"Voting is an essential civic responsibility and critical to having a voice in your government," Culp said. "Utilizing the state's online voter portal, you can make a plan to cast your vote on or before Election Day."

Hoosiers can also register to vote by visiting a county clerk's office and a directory is available online at in.gov/courts.

State Rep. Sharon Negele (R-Attica) said to register, Indiana residents must be at least 18 years old on or before the upcoming election, have a valid Indiana Driver's License or Indiana State Identification Card, be a citizen of the United States, have lived in the same precinct for at least 30 days before the next election, and not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

"With IndianaVoters.com, Hoosiers can check their eligibility, voting information, research candidates and more," Negele said. "Registration deadlines are fast approaching, so check out your voting status today."

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 10. Early in-person voting starts Oct. 11. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
