Note to the press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Todd Huston (R-Fishers) in your coverage of the U.S. Department of Labor granting a waiver to Indiana to operate the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet, which was established this year under Senate Enrolled Act 50 and sponsored by Huston. The new cabinet replaces the State Workforce Innovation Council, and aims to assess and realign efforts to improve Indiana’s workforce development system.

STATEHOUSE (June 11, 2018) – “Indiana’s positive economic outlook and top business climate are getting noticed nationwide by businesses looking to grow, and this waiver is an important piece of the state’s strategy to move our economy forward. The Governor’s Workforce Cabinet will be able to work on effectively connecting state efforts with job creators to ensure more Hoosiers develop the skills needed to be competitive and successful in high-demand, high-wage careers. I look forward to continuing to build on these efforts.”
