STATEHOUSE (Nov. 14, 2024) – House Speaker-elect Todd Huston (R-Fishers) today released committee chair appointments for members of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Standing committee appointments are made biennially after the November General Election. Huston said the list includes one new chair, State Rep. Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty), who will lead the House Financial Institutions Committee due to the retirement of State Rep. Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis).
"Our team is incredibly blessed to have experienced and talented members to serve in these vital roles, which include vetting legislation, working with stakeholders, hearing from the public and finding common ground," Huston said. "I'm confident in our team and their ability to tackle issues that matter most to Hoosiers, and I'm looking forward to having a productive session ahead."

House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19 for Organization Day, which is the formal start to the 2025 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to watch session and committees, track bills and view calendars.
