STATEHOUSE (March 15, 2024) – House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) and State Rep. Chris Jeter (R-Fishers) recently welcomed Fishers students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.

"Spending a day in the Statehouse introduces students to government and builds on the lessons they have learned in the classroom," Huston said. "It’s an exciting opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn more about how the legislative process works."

As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined lawmakers on the House floor to witness and learn about the legislative process.

"The page program gives students the opportunity to get a firsthand look at how laws are enacted at the state level," Jeter said. "This is an excellent program for young Hoosiers who are interested in current events and social studies, and I hope to see more students join us at the Statehouse next year."

These Fishers students served as pages during the 2024 legislative session:

Students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2025 legislative session. Contact Huston at h37@iga.in.gov or Jeter at h88@iga.in.gov for more information on the Indiana House Page Program.
