STATEHOUSE (Oct. 4, 2023) Henry County legislators encourage Hoosier voters to register or check their voting status by the Oct. 10 deadline.

"I encourage all Hoosiers who are eligible to vote to make their voices heard this November," said State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown). "There's not much time left to register or check your voter registration status to ensure you can cast a ballot."

State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) said Hoosiers can visit IndianaVoters.com and quickly access a link to register to vote or check their voter registration record. The state's website also provides voters with local polling locations and who's on their ballot.

"Elections are an essential part of a functioning democratic republic, and our state ensures security for voters every step of the way," Prescott said. "Election Day is quickly approaching, and I hope Hoosiers make a plan to vote and cast a ballot."

Hoosiers can also register to vote by visiting a county clerk's office and a directory is available online at in.gov/courts.

State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond) said to register, Indiana residents must be at least 18 years old on or before the upcoming election, have a valid Indiana Driver's License or Indiana State Identification Card, be a citizen of the United States, have lived in the same precinct for at least 30 days before the next election, and not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

"Hoosiers who take the time to do their civic duties like voting are critical to the success of our state," Barrett said. "Every vote counts, so I encourage you to cast a ballot on or before Election Day."

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 10. Early in-person voting starts Oct. 11. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
