STATEHOUSE (Jan. 9, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to Henry County lawmakers.
State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond) said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.
"It's encouraging to see so many young people take an interest in government through this program," Barrett said. "Being a page at the Statehouse allows students to experience what takes place during the legislative session that impacts all Hoosiers."
State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) said applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts Jan. 8 and must end by April 29.
"Being a page is not only a way for students to learn up close how government works, but they can also meet their state representative and work in a professional environment," Criswell said. "I hope to see students from our district explore this opportunity and apply."
State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups can participate on Wednesdays only. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
"It’s always a highlight of session when local students serve as pages at the Statehouse," Prescott said. "This program offers a unique chance to better understand the lawmaking process while learning how decisions impact their communities. If you or someone you know is interested, encourage them to sign up and get involved!"
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
