STATEHOUSE (Jan. 8, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to Hendricks County lawmakers.
State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.
"Students can learn a lot about their state's legislature and history by participating in the page program and touring the Statehouse," Steuerwald said. "I look forward to meeting young Hoosiers from Hendricks County during this year's legislative session."
"Serving as a page is a hands-on way for students to learn more about how laws are made," said State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton). "It's important for young Hoosiers to be engaged civically, as they'll be our future state and community leaders."
Applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts today and must end by April 29.
"I always enjoy meeting students from our area and sharing how the legislative process works," said State Rep. Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville). "The page program is an enriching opportunity for Hoosier youth to get civically involved and interact with lawmakers."
State Rep. Becky Cash (R-Zionsville) said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. "Visiting the Statehouse is a great opportunity to build on what students are learning in the classroom," Cash said. "From listening to debates to meeting local legislators, pages get an up-close look at their state government."
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
