STATEHOUSE (March 15, 2024) – State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.
As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Heaton on the House floor to learn about the legislative process.
"Pages get an inside look at how laws are made in Indiana," Heaton said. "It's a great hands-on learning experience, and I hope to see more local students take advantage of the opportunity in future sessions."
Area students serving as pages during the 2024 legislative session were Katherine Sarver from Terre Haute, who attends Sullivan High School, and Lillian Tislow from Terre Haute, who attends Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
Students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2025 legislative session. Contact Heaton's Statehouse office at h46@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9600 for more information.
