STATEHOUSE (June 27, 2019) — State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance.
Summer study committees examine the state’s top issues and recommend potential legislation.
“We’ve been assigned several topics to study, including revisions to the Uniform Consumer Credit Code, worker’s compensation and the cost of health care,” Heaton said. “We will also examine several insurance related topics. These discussions will help guide potential legislation that could be offered in the next session of the General Assembly.”
Heaton said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
