STATEHOUSE (Nov. 27, 2017) — State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) was recently selected to serve on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
“This committee reviews bills affecting state revenue and investments, including Indiana’s biennial budget,” Heaton said. “House Republicans have made a commitment to strong fiscal management of the state’s resources while maintaining healthy reserves. I am eager to keep this momentum going as we continue to operate under a balanced budget and invest wisely.”
Heaton will be transitioning from the House Committee on Natural Resources to serve on Ways and Means. He also serves as vice chair of the House Committee on Financial Institutions and is a member of the House Committee on Insurance.
Standing committees meet throughout the legislative session, and hearings can be viewed on iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
According to Heaton, the 2018 legislative session begins on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
