STATEHOUSE (Dec. 7, 2017) — The Office of Community and Rural Affairs presented awards to two Wayne County communities Wednesday at the 2017 OCRA Awards Ceremony, according to State Rep. Dick Hamm (R-Richmond).
“Centerville and Richmond will be able to enrich the lives of the people in our communities in many ways with help from OCRA,” Hamm said. “From improving the drinking water safeguards in Centerville, to bringing creativity and life to Richmond, these projects will benefit our citizens for years to come.”
Centerville received an award for a Wastewater and Drinking Water Program. Funding for this local project improves the quality of water and wastewater. Hamm said this program helps protect the health of the people in the community, reduces utility rates for low-to-moderate income communities and sets priorities for long-term development.
Richmond received an award for a Quick Impact Placebased Grant. Eligible projects include filling vacant store fronts, art displays throughout the community or unique signage around town.
