STATEHOUSE (Nov. 23, 2022) – Robb Greene and Jennifer Meltzer, both of Shelbyville, and Cory Criswell of Middletown took the oath of office Tuesday to become local state representatives serving portions of Shelby County.

Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all House lawmakers during a swearing-in ceremony in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during Organization Day, which formally kicked off the 2023 legislative session.

"I'm excited to represent our local communities and conservative Hoosier values every step of the way," Greene said. "Standing up for families, public safety, small-business owners and local farmers, and those with special needs are among my top priorities. I look forward to hitting the ground running when legislators return for the 2023 budget session."

Greene represents House District 47, which includes the western portion of Shelby County, as well as portions of Johnson County. Greene works as a logistics consultant and is a former tech entrepreneur in Indiana’s startup community. He was part of the founding team of ClusterTruck, a delivery-only restaurant, and served as the company’s chief operating officer. Greene received a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Meltzer represents House District 73, which includes the southeastern corner of Shelby County, and portions of Decatur, Bartholomew and Jennings counties. She is currently the attorney for the city of Shelbyville and has previously served as a deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana. She lives in Shelbyville with her husband, Trent, and three daughters, June, Rose and Pearl.

"I look forward to serving all Hoosiers in House District 73 and ensuring their views are shared at the Statehouse," Meltzer said. "I'm passionate about standing up for our 2nd Amendment rights, supporting local control, and addressing mental health and addiction issues. That's why I'm excited to put my legal and government experience to work for our district, and build on Indiana's strong conservative track record."

Criswell represents House District 54, which includes the majority of Rush and Henry counties, as well as portions of Hancock and Shelby counties. Criswell was raised in Henry County where he currently teaches at New Castle Elementary School and is an assistant coach for the high school boys' varsity basketball team. He is a graduate of Anderson University and Ball State University, where he earned his master's of education administration. Criswell, his wife, Sabrina, and two children are members of Blue River Church of the Nazarene.

"It's an incredible honor to serve District 54 as state representative, and I'm excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work," Criswell said. "Whether it's supporting local manufacturing and agricultural jobs, standing up for small-business owners and education, or defending the 2nd Amendment, I'm looking forward to bringing the voices of our communities to the Statehouse."
