STATEHOUSE (Nov. 22, 2022) – Robb Greene of Shelbyville, Craig Haggard of Mooresville and Julie McGuire of Indianapolis took the oath of office today to become local state representatives serving portions of Indianapolis' south side and Johnson County.
Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all House lawmakers during a swearing-in ceremony in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during Organization Day, which formally kicked off the 2023 legislative session.
“It’s an honor to represent our local communities and conservative Hoosier principles,” Greene said. “That means preserving a certain way of life for the families, small-business owners, and family farms. And, looking ahead to the 2023 session, a big priority for me is creating more opportunities for those with special needs. I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running on day one.”
Greene represents House District 47, which includes the southern part of Johnson County as well as the western portion of Shelby County. Greene works as a logistics consultant and is a former tech entrepreneur in Indiana’s startup community. He was part of the founding team of ClusterTruck, a delivery-only restaurant, and served as the company’s chief operating officer. Greene received a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Haggard, a veteran, represents House District 57, which includes northwestern Johnson County and portions of Hendricks and Morgan counties. He works as a commercial broker and is a small-business owner.
"I've spent most of my life serving our country and community, and I'm incredibly blessed to be able to extend that service to the Statehouse," Haggard said. "My goal is to represent the voices of House District 57 while supporting commonsense policies and conservative Hoosier values. I'm excited to get to work and build on Indiana's track record of success."
Haggard previously served in the U.S. Marines as an AV8B Harrier Aviator for 11 years. He was honorably discharged in 2000 and transitioned to the Indiana Air National Guard, serving as an active guard reserve member for 11 more years. Haggard flew the F16 Viper and was commander of Headquarters Detachment One at Camp Atterbury. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2013.
McGuire represents House District 93, which includes a portion of Indianapolis' south side. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, and gained experience through serving in the community, and working with nonprofits and in state government. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University.
"I'm honored and humbled by the opportunity to represent House District 93," McGuire said. "It's important we work together to strengthen our local communities. I'm excited to tackle issues that hardworking Hoosiers and their families care about, including improving public safety, supporting job creation and expanding parental choice in education."
