Note to the Press – Grant County legislators provided the following statements today after Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosier taxpayers:
STATEHOUSE (June 9, 2022) – "Hoosiers need direct relief now, which is why I'm eager to get back to the Statehouse and work for individuals and families who are struggling with the cost of living. While inflation continues to climb, we'll have the opportunity to return about $1 billion to Hoosiers through another round of automatic taxpayer refunds," said State Rep. Ann Vermilion (R-Marion).
"I continue to hear from local residents who are stretched thin trying to cover the soaring costs at the grocery store, gas station and for other essential items. Indiana’s incredibly strong economy and conservative fiscal leadership continue to pay off, and I look forward to coming back this summer to provide some inflation relief to taxpayers," said State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo).
