STATEHOUSE (Sept. 30, 2026) – State Reps. Lori Goss-Reaves (R-Marion) and Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) are encouraging local students to apply for the Indiana House Republican Internship Program for the 2027 legislative session.
Goss-Reaves said this paid, full-time internship is open to college students, recent graduates and students in law or graduate school from January through April.
"A student's professional network can grow through the experiences they choose to pursue," Goss-Reaves said. "I encourage young Hoosiers to seek out opportunities like this where they can learn from others, be civically involved and develop relationships that support their future goals."
Karickhoff said interns work in the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis full-time Monday through Friday during the legislative session and gain practical knowledge of state government through active participation in the legislative process.
"Every day at the Statehouse presents a new opportunity to learn from experienced leaders and professionals," Karickhoff said. "Students are surrounded by people who can help them grow, challenge their thinking and better prepare them for future careers and aspirations."
Positions are available in legislative operations, policy and communications.
This spring semester internship gives interested students opportunities to interact with state legislators, state agencies and private sector organizations, as well as participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
