Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Mark Genda (R-Frankfort) in your coverage of the Indiana State Police investigation of the Clinton County shooting Nov. 18 on State Road 29.
STATEHOUSE (Nov. 20, 2025) – "Our police officers risk their lives every day to ensure the safety and security of our communities. My heart goes out to the officer injured in the recent shooting in Clinton County and to the officer's family, and I pray for a quick recovery."
Background: A Kirklin Town Marshal was injured while assisting on a traffic stop Nov. 18 on State Road 29. A vehicle passenger opened fire on the officers, striking two. One officer was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The second officer struck by gunfire was wearing a bullet-resistant vest and was uninjured. The suspect was struck by gunfire, apprehended and taken to a hospital.
