STATEHOUSE (Feb. 9, 2017) – State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) today at the Statehouse recognized SkillsUSA with a House Resolution.
SkillsUSA provides structured programs concerning citizenship, leadership and employability, and provides technical and professional skill training for more than 300,000 students and instructors each year at the middle school, high school and college levels.
“SkillsUSA is a wonderful organization that works with local businesses to see what they are looking for in future employees, and then in turn works with students to meet those needs, closing the skills gap,” Frye said. “This entire week raises awareness of what SkillsUSA is doing to prepare our children for their careers down the road, so that they can be the backbone of a well-educated workforce.”
Frye said there are 271 students and instructors participating in SkillsUSA at the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles.
According to Frye, each year the second week of February is celebrated as SkillsUSA Week throughout the nation.
