STATEHOUSE (April 18, 2019) – Members of the House of Representatives Thursday at the Statehouse honored State Rep. Dave Frizzell (R-Indianapolis) for his 27 years representing House District 93. Frizzell will be retiring from his position June 30.
“It has truly been an honor to represent our community over the last 27 years,” Frizzell said. “During my time with the legislature, I always strive to seek the Lord first when making decisions at the Statehouse, and do what is best for the citizens of Marion and Johnson counties. I am humbled by voters’ continued support over the years, and appreciate the opportunity to serve our great state.”
During his time in the House, Frizzell served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Majority Whip, and chair of the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee. He also served on the House Public Health Committee, and House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee.
Frizzell’s first piece of legislation passed into law ended partial-birth abortions in Indiana, and he has continued to advocate for the unborn. He has also led efforts to support vulnerable children and ensure Hoosiers have access to quality health care.
“During our time serving in the legislature together, Dave has become an integral member of our leadership team and trusted confidant,” said House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis). “His heart and passion for helping others is modeled after his faith, and he is a true public servant. Dave will be sincerely missed at the Statehouse.”
Frizzell and his wife, Valda, reside in Perry Township, and have two sons and nine grandchildren.
