Friend laces up sneakers to fight cancer
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 19, 2016)– State Rep. Bill Friend (R-Macy) paired his sneakers with his suit today at the Statehouse to help raise cancer awareness.
“This year, more than 35,000 Hoosiers will hear the words ‘you have cancer,’” Friend said. “This devastating disease has touched the lives of many. It is encouraging to see so many of my fellow legislators raising awareness for cancer. Spreading the word and encouraging healthy lifestyles are just some of the way to stand up to cancer.”
The Suits and Sneakers challenge is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to help raise cancer awareness and support those affected by the disease.
