Note to the Press – Elkhart County lawmakers issued the following statements in response to the shooting at Martin's Supermarket in Elkhart that left three people dead, including the shooter, and wounded two police officers on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 28, 2025) – "My heart goes out to the families affected by this tragedy. I hope we can come together as a community to provide relief and comfort to those who need it, and I encourage everyone to keep the victims and those affected in your prayers," said State Rep. Joanna King (R-Middlebury).
"I extend my deepest condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy. We are greatly appreciative of the bravery demonstrated by local law enforcement who put their lives at risk to protect others, said State Rep. Doug Miller (R-Elkhart).
"I grieve with my Elkhart community and those who lost loved ones in this tragedy. I'm deeply saddened by this traumatic event and will continue to pray for Elkhart and its citizens, and especially those law enforcement officers who were wounded," said State Rep. Tim Wesco (R-Osceola).
