STATEHOUSE (Jan. 8, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to Elkhart County lawmakers.

State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.

"The House Page Program is a unique experience that young Hoosiers should not pass up," Abbott said. "Students can meet and work alongside lawmakers and learn more about the state legislature firsthand."

Applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts Jan. 8 and must end by April 29.

"I hope to see students from my district serve as pages during the upcoming session," said State Rep. Joanna King (R-Middlebury). "With openings filling fast, eligible students should sign up for this opportunity soon."

State Rep. Doug Miller (R-Elkhart) said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups can participate on Wednesdays only. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.

"Students who have a strong interest in state government, Indiana history or a future in civic engagement should consider the page program," Miller said. "Pages are able to witness the legislative process at the Statehouse and meet their state representative."

"Being a page is such a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about state government and see what happens at the Statehouse for a day," said State Rep. Tim Wesco (R-Osceola). "I encourage students to not wait and sign up today."

Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
