Indiana led the nation in private sector job growth in April by adding 15,400 new jobs for Hoosiers, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Some of Indiana's job growth is hitting close to home, as 40 new jobs are being added to Elkhart. Automotive Climate Control, Inc. (ACC), a manufacturer of mobile air conditioning and heating equipment, recently announced its plans to create up to 40 new jobs at its headquarters in Elkhart. The ACC serves original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers in the automotive and specialty vehicle industries. They plan to purchase nearly $5 million in equipment for its 75,000 square-foot facility. Installation of the new equipment will begin over the next several months. My colleagues and I have worked to develop and pass legislation that continues to promote Hoosier job creation by providing companies with tax credits, a lower corporate tax rate and predictable property tax rates. In addition to these economic development tools, the Indiana General Assembly passed Right to Work legislation this session. I am glad our communities are beginning to see job growth and the positive effects of our legislation. |
