STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) was recently selected to chair the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications.

In the upcoming months, the committee will examine several topics including the enforcement of the Indiana Telephone Solicitation Act, technology changes relating to cybersecurity and robocalls, and automatic dialing machine regulation.

“This summer we have a great opportunity to examine possible policy changes dealing with these important consumer issues,” DeVon said. “After serving as vice-chair of the House Committee on Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications throughout the 2018 legislative session, I am looking forward to utilizing my experience and working with fellow lawmakers in this new role.”

In addition, DeVon will serve as a member on the Interim Study Committee on Education and the Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services Commission.

DeVon said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
