DeVon, Teshka statements on historic EV investment in St. Joseph County

Note to the Press: Please include the following statements from State Reps. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) and Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) in your coverage of Tuesday's Michigan-based General Motors and Korea-based Samsung SDI announcement of a new $3 billion EV battery cell plant in St. Joseph County, creating 1,700 manufacturing jobs.

STATEHOUSE (June 14, 2023) –
"Indiana continues to lead when it comes to economic development. The new joint venture between these two companies will be a gamechanger for our county and the hardworking Hoosiers in our local communities. This historic investment will support Indiana's ongoing growth and help cement our role in the emerging electric vehicle industry," said State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger).  

"This project and investment will be transformative not only for our area but for Indiana. It's incredibly fitting for our state, with its reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse and deep roots in automotive history, to be a leader in the era of electric vehicles," said State Rep. Jake Teshka (R-South Bend).
