Note to the Press – Delaware County legislators provided the following statements today after Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosier taxpayers:

STATEHOUSE (June 9, 2022) – “While Washington plays politics and ignores the needs of everyday Americans, Indiana is acting to provide some relief for hard-working Hoosiers. This second round of automatic taxpayer refunds takes reserve dollars from state coffers and returns it to the pockets of taxpayers – where it belongs," said State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City).

“As prices of gas, groceries and necessary goods skyrocket, returning to the Statehouse to help provide inflation relief to Hoosiers is mission critical. I look forward to joining my House and Senate colleagues in returning these dollars back to families in Delaware and Madison counties," said State Rep. Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown).

“Hoosiers need direct relief now, which is why I'm eager to get back to the Statehouse and work for individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet. While inflation continues to climb, we'll have the opportunity to return about $1 billion to Hoosiers through another round of automatic taxpayer refunds," said State Rep. Ann Vermilion (R-Marion).

"As D.C. Democrats continue to drive our national debt and inflation through the roof, taxpayers deserve some much-needed relief. Issuing another round of taxpayer refunds could give a boost to hardworking Hoosiers and I look forward to joining my fellow legislators to do just that," said State Rep. Tony Cook (R-Cicero).
