The Indiana House of Representatives is offering internships at the Indiana Statehouse for the spring semester. The House Republican Internship Program is a unique opportunity for young adults to gain valuable professional experience, build their resumes, strengthen their workforce skills and explore networking opportunities that could open the door to a career.
Internships are open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors, and no prior political or government experience is required. These positions are full time and run from January through mid-March. In addition to getting a bi-weekly compensation of $750, participants can also earn college credit for their work and compete for a $3,000 scholarship.
Throughout the 2018 legislative session, interns are paired with full-time staff members and work with a group of legislators. The House Republican Caucus offers internship opportunities in five departments:
For those looking to launch their careers or make themselves stand out among others competing for jobs, an internship with the House Republican Caucus is a great place to start. Many former interns now work as full-time staff here at the Statehouse. An even greater number have gone on to successful careers in the political field, private and public sectors, and more.
The deadline to submit applications is Oct.31. If you are unable to participate this year, please consider future opportunities with us as we hire interns every year.
