STATEHOUSE (Dec. 15, 2020) – State Rep. Michelle Davis (R-Whiteland) was recently appointed to serve on the House Education Committee and the House Judiciary Committee.
Davis, director of adult education at Central Nine Career Center, said she will use her experience to help guide her as she examines state policies impacting Indiana's K-12 schools.
"My experience and background with K-12 education will provide a critical perspective as we consider legislation to support our schools," Davis said. "This has been a school year like no other, and students, parents and teachers have had to adjust their plans several times to meet new challenges. I am committed to supporting policies that make sense for students, families and educators."
She said the House Judiciary Committee will examine issues that impact the judicial system.
Davis' committee appointments come after she was elected in November to represent House District 58 in the Indiana General Assembly. She said House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, kicking off Jan. 4, to consider legislation impacting Hoosiers.
