Since 1925, the Jasper County Fair has served up first-rate food, entertainment and educational agricultural events to support our local Rensselaer community and beyond. The Jasper County Fair has been a testament to our community's rich history and longstanding heritage. Cultivating a sense of fellowship, a platform for local businesses, we recognize the impact this fair has had over the last 100 years.
This year, I authored and presented a proclamation to recognize 100 years of agricultural history, community and tradition that shape the next generation of Hoosiers. I also want to recognize and celebrate the volunteers, organizations, sponsors, supporters and fair goers that make the Jasper County Fair possible each year.
Festivities began July 20 and run through July 27 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds. With free, live entertainment every night, the oldest photo contest and fun merchandise to check out like the 100th year cookbook, there is something for everyone. The first Jasper County Fair kicked off on Aug. 31, 1925, hosted by the Jasper County Fair Association. Since its start, it has been a place to swap ideas, share a meal, uplift local ventures and learn the latest advancements in agriculture. History and fellowship make each event, forum and performance unique to our community.
From local venders to family farmers, the Jasper County Fair goes above and beyond to support locally sourced products and services. The Indiana State Department of Agriculture's initiative, Indiana Grown, also promotes Hoosier-made crafts, food and other goods from around the state. I encourage everyone to support local vendors, farmers and businesses that uplift our community, as well stay safe and enjoy the competition, tradition and fellowship of the Jasper County Fair.
