STATEHOUSE (Oct. 10, 2024) – The Oct. 31 deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2025 legislative session is fast approaching, according to State Reps. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) and Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville).

Criswell said this full-time, spring semester internship is Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and can gain academic credit through their college or university.

As someone who spent years in education, I know how valuable internships can be for a student's personal and professional growth,” Criswell said. “Whether you are interested in law, policy or communications, this internship gives you the skills and connections that can launch you into a great career.”

Patterson said interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates of all majors should visit indianahouserepublicans.com/internship to complete the application before Oct. 31.

“If you want to learn more about government and how public policy decisions in Indiana are made, this internship is a great place to start,” Patterson said. “Students make connections, grow their resume and build confidence throughout this experience. I highly encourage anyone interested to apply before the deadline.”

Indiana House internships include free parking, career and professional development assistance, and enrollment access to an Indiana government class. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy and communications.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
